Ty's (belated) 8th birthday post

Ty's birthday coincided with the 1st day of spring break this year. About halfway through the day Tyler called and asked if we wanted to go the Wisconsin Dells for a night. Say no more, we packed up and were off by 4 to play at the indoor waterparks. We swam and rode the waterslides that night and then got up the next morning and played all day.

Grant crashed halfway through the second day--poor guy!
It was a fun, surprise birthday/spring break celebration, and I'm so glad Tyler thought of it. Here's to being spontaneous!

With the crazy month we've had, we had Ty's friend birthday celebration a month late. He wanted a sportsy party, so we took him to the YMCA to play basketball and swim. And had pizza and pinata at our house. I tried to make a football (this is the first time I've deviated from the balloon shaped pinata) and it turned out looking more like a rocket/Christmas ornament. Tyler insisted we put marshmellows on the tips so no one got their eye poked out. We can happily report that no one lost an eye, and everyone got lots of candy. Phew!

Rowdy boys singing happy birthday

Happy (super late) birthday, Ty!!!!

I love your pinata! I think you did a great job. I had to laugh about the marshmallows on the end. I could just hear you telling me about it. What a fun spring break. That looks like such a fun place to visit.

Oh my goodness, they are sooo cute!! I love your kids. It looks like you had such a great time at the Dells. Your pinata was awesome! Kudos to you for even trying to make one. It looked like a football. I liked the marshmallows. Nice touch! Hyrum would've taken them off the ends to eat them. Whenever he comes over, he knows where our smore stash is, and always tries to sneak a marshmallow or two! I've never heard that version of the birthday song. Very inventive!

What a fun party! We loved the kids happy birthday song and all the commentary along with it! How fun. I love the pinata and I am so impressed with the kid safe ingenuity. SO funny! My kids got a chuckle out of hearing about the pinata too:)
