Is Anybody Listening?

One of our family goals this year was to memorize the articles of faith (for those of you who aren't Mormon, they are 13 statements about what we believe--see link on the side). So we say or sing them during lunch (when I remember). Anyway, we were working on the 2nd AoF ("We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression") last week, but I didn't think anything was sinking in.
Well, on Sunday I was sitting in Sacrament meeting, trying to keep the kids quiet. Garrett kept pulling the hymnbook-holder off of the pew in front of us. After repeatedly telling him to stop, I threatened, "If you do that one more time YOU WILL BE PUNISHED!" He immediately stopped, and I thought, 'Yes! My threat worked!' when he looked up and said, "...for their own sins? And not for Adam's transblession?"
Who woulda thought?

It is amazing what they pick up on, even when you are not trying to have them listen.

Too funny! We are doing the same thing here, but at breakfast. At the end of each article of faith, Ethan (also 3!) always adds "BUT NOT FOR ADAM'S TRANSGRESSIONS" - he even yells it in primary!!! It's true though, I can't believe how much these little kiddos pick up! Miss you guys.

Lani, that is so cute! It's good that you're such a good mom who teaches your kids so well.

When driving in the car the other day, James said, "Mom, you must not like Minnesota very much, because when we're in the car you're always saying MOVE, PEOPLE!"

Um, maybe I should go over the Articles of Faith with them while we're driving in the car instead of exhibiting my road rage!

Hey, girl! I saw your link on Mandy's blog this morning! I'm so glad you've joined the blogging world and I can visit you all the time! Your kids are so gorgeous, I can't believe it. And I could just eat Grant UP! I'm putting you on my friends list, if that's okay. Great to see you!
